The Parent to Parent Program, funded by the SD Department of Health, Children's Special Health Services, is one of the newest services that SDPC has to offer parents of children with disabilities and/or special health care needs. The main purpose of this Parent to Parent program is to link families together for support who have children with similar disabilities.
This new program will include a current statewide database of families which can provide support or who would like support from other parents who have had similar life experiences with their children with disabilities. It will also include training for parents who agree to be a support parent for other families.
With a new database we are striving to provide a support system, information, and resource options to hundreds of families throughout South Dakota.
